Search engine optimization is a strategy that is fairly easy to implement for most company websites - provided you have a current set of SEO ranking factors and efficiently implement changes. Check forums, online communities and Q&A sites to find the questions people in your niche are asking. Providing clear answers with actionable points is a sure-fire way of creating content your target audience will love. There’s little worse than being notified your website has spam or seeing an alert in search results that your website might have been hacked. Over the years I've seen webmasters and SEOs being concerned over boilerplate content, such as repetitive legal disclaimers or navigation on the header or footer of your pages. But Google time and time again has said they can handle it and they don't penalize for this type of content.

Cost should not be your only consideration

NAP stands for Name, Address and Phone Number. NAP is critical for businesses wanting to rank highly in local search results. Google cross-references your contact information across your own website, and local online directories in order to validate your company. Inconsistent information can be the reason your SEO is failing. Let’s face it, a website that can’t get its contact details right is more than likely not worth a visit. Hence, Google ranks these websites lower. You have to get your digital footprint right before you do anything else. Just like you should interview others, seize opportunities to be interviewed, no matter how small the audience is. The 5-600 words that take you 15-20 minutes can turn into a few highly authoritative contextual links. Running a PBN is time-consuming, it costs money and building clean, legitimate backlinks from real websites doesn’t have to be difficult. SEO is a long-term commitment that offers long-term results. Know that good SEO isn’t going to take a few days and you won’t see huge results in weeks. SEO takes months, but the benefits last for years.

SEO is a journey, not a destination

The majority of articles found on the internet are made for the search bots. As a company, you need to take care, as Bing and Google are coming down hard on firms when writing only for the search engine. You need images not only to improve a user’s experience on your website but also because they have a positive impact on your SEO. It’s not enough to simply have images on a website, though. To help with your Google search ranking, come up with creative file names and alt tags which describe what the image is. You can use your blog as an informal platform for giving insights into your thought process as it relates to your business. You can review products, offer personal opinions (be careful, of course, to avoid serious controversy) and answer questions. Even if your blog readers aren’t ready to purchase your products or services, they’ll be more likely to turn to you when they are. Ranking factors play a huge role in SEO and the overall digital marketing strategy of a website.

Your meta description should include the long-tail keyword you are trying to rank for

While content and digital marketers have spent years honing search engine optimization into a fine art, most companies have actually devoted considerable efforts and resources to ensuring their SEO techniques are top-notch. Top-ranking webpages in Google have shorter URLs. What is user intent? In short it is the reason why someone is searching for something in Google. What are they actually trying to achieve as a result of typing (or saying) that search term? According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "People often think of Google as the only search engine that matters. While most sources show Google is the most popular search engine by far (80-90% of market share), SEO affects all search engines."

Immediately implement whatever needs to be done to increase the website's targeted search engine traffic

Choose keyword frequency over keyword density. Link outreach is a bit “old school” but can still be quite powerful. There are thousands of millions of pages on the web, all ready to present the information on a variety of interesting and amusing topics. The Search Engines are the messengers of the same information at your disposal whenever you need them. SEO helps businesses by allowing them to attract more customers to their website and if it's done right – attract them in a way that they also become customers. This is why I pair SEO with 'Conversion Rate Optimization' so that any site I'm doing SEO on also gets improvements in design and development that are intended to make it easy for people to become customers of your business.
