From an SEO perspective, I never treat a piece of content as ‘complete’. There is always room for improvement with updates, additional information, and various other things that can make it more useful to visitors. Now, this is an important issue to be addressed. All sites have a home or "root" page, which is usually the most frequented page on the site and the starting place of navigation for many visitors. Unless your site has only a handful of pages, you should think about how visitors will go from a general page (your root page) to a page containing more specific content. SEO and content marketing both bring important elements to the online marketing table, and you need them both to really grow your business. It’s often a really big and complex picture that needs to have everything working together to deliver the best results.

Too Many Outbound Links with Keywords

Link building is definitely one of the most important aspects of SEO strategy. But, finding good sites to comment on might be a daunting task. Increasingly Google is moving away from giving keywords top priority when it comes to ranking signals and is instead giving preference to the user experience. In the earlier days of SEO, sending out press releases with keyword optimized anchor texts would get you a dozens of backlinks. In some fortunate cases, this would even make your site crawl to the top positions on SERPs. So, eventually Press releases became a tactic to build links and rank high. Internal page linking is an important part of on page SEO. These can be interpreted as binding your website together.

What does a good Backlink Profile look like?

A negative SEO strategy involves crawling a website. This “forceful” crawling of the website puts strain on the web server, causing the website to slow down or even crash. Because people have shorter attention spans, keep the most important information in heading tags so they can scan and see if they want to delve deeper into the post. On page SEO refers to those elements on a site that make your page more likely to be served up when people are looking for products or services like yours. People love to browse through a clearance section for bargains. You could include overstocked items or products nearing the end of their buying season. A dollar section for low priced merchandise can generate a lot of sales, especially if your website offers pop up suggestions for related items from your store. The customers will feel like they are getting a great deal and you will get more sales.

Understanding the rationale behind image tags

On the Internet, people tend to scan text rather than read it from cover to cover. That’s why you should provide a clear structure of each piece of content. Use headlines, subheadings, bullets and bolds in the most relevant sections of your copy. Mobile friendliness is an important ranking factor for search rankings. More and more users are using their mobile devices to surf the internet. In some areas, over 70% of users visit websites on mobile. What does this mean for you? Every sitepage should be optmized for mobile. Every. Single. One. One of the most important steps when starting with SEO is to align it with your wider goals. It’s useful to set initial goals for what you want to achieve with your content to explore how to involve SEO in the process. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "We all know that when it comes to link building, we aim for the authority links in the first place. But they’re also the hardest to land."

Not enough data to tell

f your site is linked to from other well ranking sites they consider your site to be important too. Don’t pay for links from other sites or do link exchanges as Google is wise to this and can penalise you for it. Instead give people a reason to write about you (competitions, great content people will want to share, brilliant offers, interesting news etc). The length of your posts is also an important consideration. Back in the days of spammy-SEO, almost every post was 500 words long. Today, you’ll have the most success by writing posts that are longer and more in-depth. Imagine that your reader is going to sit down with a cup of tea and really dive deep into the subject – that’s the kind of experience that you should be delivering! Location search is growing every year and we are using our mobile phones daily to search for answers and solutions locally to us. SEO and content marketing are, technically speaking, two very different beasts, and yet, they go together hand in hand. One relies on the other for success, and vice versa.
