Social signals - how many times a piece of content is shared, tweeted and liked - have become a crucial part of the way search engines decide which content is the most useful and should be ranked higher. Ranking high on Google is crucial for attracting consumers to your company. By investing in blogging, you have the opportunity to establish your company as a leader in your industry, as well as reach the customers who are going to take you to the next level. A simple seo rule – use keywords in the text of page links that refer to other pages on your site and to any external Internet resources. Keywords in such links can slightly enhance page rank. Long form content is most valuable when it can serve as an extensive resource for readers on a specific topic. This includes long lists of tips, step-by-step guides, and collections of facts and statistics.
If you find something effective, keep doing it with Linking & SEO
To truly understand whether your SEO campaign is working, you need to learn which measurements deserve your attention. The algorithm responsible for
taking the world’s information and organizing it into (usually) 10 entries is, as you likely know, complicated. While uncovering and fixing technical issues has always been an important part of SEO, in the wake of Panda and Penguin, technical SEO has moved closer to the forefront. Great content marketing is essentially the bait you put on the end of your hook to attract the fishes. And SEO, in this analogy, is the fishing rod. SEO and Content Marketing work together to not only reel in your audience, but also keep them revisiting your page and engaging with your website (all good stuff).
You'll usually find you optimize for important keywords naturally
SEO today is increasingly driven by natural language search, that is, people doing searches that are more like normal questions than two or three keywords. f someone is more
actively seeking something then it’s more likely they’ll search longer strings of words, meaning that you will target people who will be more willing to engage with your content. If you’re selling goods or services, then targeting long tail keyword can really make a big difference. Identify culprits: Too many and/or large images, embedded media or videos, too many plugins, and clunky coding. The goal of search engine optimization is to have the search engine spiders not only find your site and pages but also specifically rank the page relevance so that it appears at the top of the search engine results.
Include internal and external links
SEOs have a weird way to describe this voting process; they call it “link juice.” If an authoritative site, we’ll say Wikipedia for example, links to you, they’re passing you “link juice.” Ideally page titles should include the search term for which the website has been optimized. One of the very first things that you need to do in order to gain success in online marketing is to establish the main keyword of your site. When you are able to do that, you can make use of it and optimize your web page with it. If possible, you can also make use of it for your domain name. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "While most blindly assume that SEO is about keywords (which is partially true), real SEO is involves grasping the underlying metrics and logic that search engines use to determine which websites are authoritative and which others are not."
Your SEO campaign will fail unless you integrate content marketing
Links are still a critical element to Google’s algorithm and their value needs to be protected. People like to seem
smart and cool in front of others. Try to create content that makes people feel this way. Make them feel they’re ‘insiders’. If your website or webpage suddenly or gradually changes focus over time (say from a carpentry guide to a best practice SEO guide – sounds unlikely, but you never know), then anchor text pointing to you will likely change in line with the different topic. Google may then decide that your page has changed so much that the old anchor text is no longer fresh and devalue those older links. Identify the keywords related to your niche and select the competitive ones you want to rank for.
